The Birth of 4orty2!

Every journey in music starts with a dream. Mine began with Button Addict Records—a vision fuelled by my passion for producing music and supporting artists. When I launched the label, my goal was clear: to create music for others, to build something special. But dreams don’t always unfold the way we imagine. Along the way, I faced setbacks, missteps, and hard lessons that nearly made me walk away from it all.

Looking back, I don’t blame the artists I originally worked with; if anything, I realize now that I wasn’t fully ready for them. I was still learning, still growing, and in some ways, I let them down by not being as prepared as I should have been. Some left due to creative disagreements, others simply didn’t see the potential I held as a producer. And honestly, at that time, I didn’t see it in myself either. That realization hit hard.

I found myself at a crossroads—should I quit, pack it up, and move on? Or should I keep going, chasing the dream that burned inside me? It was a moment of truth, and in that moment, I made a decision that changed everything: if I couldn’t build it for others, I would build it for myself.

And so, I embarked on a journey—one of self-discovery, growth, and relentless pursuit of becoming the artist I always wanted to be. I poured myself into the music, learning, evolving, and slowly, I started to see the vision more clearly. With each track I released, I found not just my sound but something even more valuable—a belief in myself.

Meaning of 4orty2

Now, standing on the other side of doubt, I’m proud to introduce the world to 4orty2—the artist, the mindset, the message. More than just a name, 4orty2 represents something deeply personal. Inspired by the famous book The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, where 42 is the answer to the meaning of life, it also carries a profound connection to my own story. At the age of 42, I finally stopped caring about outside opinions and started believing in myself.

The ‘orty’ in the middle of 4orty2 stands for Owned Reality This Year—a mantra that reminds me, and hopefully others, that age is just a number and growth can happen at any stage in life. At 42, I took control of my narrative, and I hope to inspire others to do the same. Whether I “make it” in the industry or not no longer defines me—what defines me is my passion, my purpose, and my persistence.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that dreams don’t have deadlines. You are the author of your own story, and no one else gets to write your ending. So here I am, embracing this new chapter with open arms—proud, determined, and forever evolving.

Button Addict Continues

The Creative Playground Lives On
While 4orty2 represents my personal evolution as an artist, it doesn’t mean the end of Button Addict—far from it. Button Addict has always been, and will always be, my creative playground. It’s the foundation I built to produce, remix, and discover incredible talent, and that mission continues.

As Button Addict, I’m still an artist in my own right—pushing boundaries, experimenting with sound, and collaborating with others to create something meaningful. Whether it’s producing for new artists, remixing tracks that inspire me, or digging deep to find the next hidden gem, Button Addict remains a space where creativity knows no limits.

The birth of 4orty2 doesn’t mean I’m walking away from that—it simply means I’ve added another dimension to my journey. 4orty2 is just me being me, unapologetically. But Button Addict? That’s where the magic of music discovery and collaboration will always thrive.
