Interview: Seth Witcher

Today, we’re excited to share an exclusive interview with Seth Witcher, a singer-songwriter from Pennsylvania who’s been making serious waves in the alternative pop/rock scene. His music blends heartfelt emotion with infectious melodies, creating a sound that feels both fresh and nostalgic.

Seth’s Interview….

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background, Where are you from, current age etc?
A: I am from Allentown, Pennsylvania and I was born 02/12/1999

Q: What inspired you to pursue music?
A: Honestly I’ve always sang ever since I was a child so I knew that I loved music. It just feels right to me so I do it!

Q: What’s your earliest memory of music? Was there a moment when you knew this was your path?
A: When I was 4 I was singing in the church choir which heavily inspired me.

Q: Who were some of your biggest influences growing up, both musically and personally?
A: Personally, my dad. He’s the hardest working person I know. Musically, Juice WRLD. I loved his music growing up.

Q: How does your hometown or upbringing play a role in shaping your sound and story?
A: It heavily influences me, from song ideas made from my memories to the daily life of my surroundings.

Q: If you weren’t making music, what do you think you’d be doing right now?
A: I would be a robotic engineer, always been fascinated by the dedication and skill involved.

Q: How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?
A: Alternative Rock/Pop/Emo, the fresh sounds of an Era that should never be forgotten.

Q: What draws you to alternative rock/pop as your main genre?
A: I grew up listening to Paramore, Panic!, Ed Sheeran, and Juice WRLD so I think I just wanted to hear a mix of everything I loved.

Q: What is your personal favourite track you have worked on and why?
A: Right now, probably the songs that aren’t out yet. You’ll hear them soon! It’s just because they’re some of the best representations of my heart to date.

Q: Are there any non-musical influences (like books, movies, or life experiences) that find their way into your work?
A: Not really or at least nothing that springs to mind, Mainly life experiences of mine that show through my music.

Q: What’s a song or artist that you think everyone should listen to at least once?
A: Bad Romance – Lady Gaga

Q: What’s your typical song writing process? Does it start with lyrics, melody, or something else?
A: It all differs per song truthfully. Sometimes may be a melody I played on the guitar other times a simple lyric idea that evolves into song.

Q: Where do you usually find inspiration for your music?
A: From my past, inspiration often hits me when reflecting.

Q: How do you know when a song is finished and ready to share with the world?
A: When my heart smiles I know it is time.

Q: I see you are a guitar player but is there any other instrument you play or want to learn to play?
A: Maybe violin. I think it sounds really beautiful and could offer a new dimension to my sound.

Q: Are there any rituals or habits you rely on when working on new material?
A: I pray beforehand and after, helps me to ground myself and be thankful for the things I have in life.

Q: How do you approach collaboration, and is there anyone you’d love to work with in the future?
A: If I’m vibing I’ll collab with anyone, Music is about the feeling. Also no one in particular comes to mind.

Q: As a young Black man creating alternative rock/pop, you’re breaking stereotypes in the music industry. How has your identity shaped your journey?
A: My identity is my journey. Truthfully.

Q: Have you faced any challenges or unexpected reactions due to defying these norms?
A: Not much no. People usually respect someone to an extent when they’ve made up their mind about something and my mind is clear and set.

Q: The music industry has historically been shaped by certain norms and expectations. From your perspective, do you feel the industry is genuinely becoming more inclusive, and in what ways do you hope your work helps challenge stereotypes or pave the way for others?
A: I think the industry is definitely more inclusive now because everyone has a chance to be heard. Music is now in the hands of everyday people.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d offer to other young artists trying to carve their own path?
A: Never give up on your dream. If you don’t give up, it’ll never be over.

Q: What has been the most rewarding moment of your career so far?
A: Someone telling me that my music has saved their life, honestly my most rewarding moment to date and will be hard to top.

Q: How do you stay motivated during challenging times?
A: I pray and trust God that he’s got me, and I keep pushing.

Q: Are there any specific milestones or goals you’re striving for in the near future?
A: Selling out Madison Square Garden would be a dream come true.

Q: What would you like your legacy to be as an artist?
A: I don’t know really, find this a hard question to answer, but I will just keep doing what I do and leave that up to the listener’s to decide.

Q: What do you hope people take away from your music?
A: Not something I have really thought about, I guess we’ll find out.

Q: How do you approach social media and connecting with your audience online?
A: I post everyday and reassess the post later, then do it again. Just keep on pushing and interact where possible

Q: If someone’s just discovering your music, what’s the first track you’d recommend they listen to and why?
A: I hate love songs! Re: (one take in studio) because it has the most streams right now so must be resonating.

Q: Do you have any projects you are currently working on, what should we be on the lookout for, when is your next release?
A: I’ll be releasing a new single January 20th named Ferris Wheel. People should listen to that one when it’s out, had a lot of fun during this tracks journey.
