Q – Hey Hytop, thanks for chatting with us! Can you tell us a bit about your background and where you’re from? Age etc…
A – I’m a 20 year old music producer based in Morocco

Q – What is the story behind your name Hytop, what inspired it?
A – The story behind the name Hytop is that I merged two of my favourite songs at the time, first one « High hopes » by pink Floyd and the second one I forgot the name now lol, I originally came up with the name in 2018

Q – What first got you into making music and when did you start?
A – In the beginning of 2020 (Quarantine) , I was listening to Monstercat and NCS music and I was curious on how they make such music, so I started learning music production.

Q- What would you say are the main Genres your music covers?
A- My main genres are slap house / deep house / synthwave

Q – Who are some of your biggest influences in music, who inspired you?
A – Rogue / Alan Walker / Nitro Fun / Ephixa / Au5 have been my biggest influences

Q – What was the first track you created, and what inspired it?
A – My first track was called “Illusion”, and I was Inspired by a Au5 track that I had heard.

Q – Can you tell us about your creative process? How do you go from an idea to a finished track?
A – I normally start by building the perfect bassline, using the created bassline as my foundation I then create the chords. When I am happy with the results I work on my drum patterns to fit the genre I am working with. Then I start choosing the perfect sounds to accompany the track (pads / plucks / leads …), once this all comes together I start work on the arrangement. I aim to create an uplifting build-up that prepares the listener to get ready for an insane drop. I then start work on my second drop with aim of making it more powerful than the first. After that the rest all starts to fall into place, Intro, outro etc.

Q – How would you describe your music style?
A – I am actually interested in all styles, I make EDM (slap house / deep house / dubstep / dnb / synthwave / future garage / dance music), Rock , orchestra , cinematic, pop , flamenco

Q – What themes or messages do you often explore in your music?
A – For the themes, I love to make my music a bit heroic, emotional and hyping

Q – Are there any particular life experiences that have heavily influenced your music?
A – I had some friends who hated me for making music, and they were always telling me that my music always sucked and that motivated me more to make better music and show then who I really am.

Q – What’s the story behind your latest single? What is it called and what inspired it?
A – My latest release “Path Of Lanterns”, is a Lofi X Rock song and instead of making a guitar solo, I made a piano solo. My inspiration is my own creativity, I like to mix things up and try things that have not been done before.

A – I have a lot of upcoming releases, one of them is a song where I have combined 4 genres, orchestral, cinematic, rock and melodic techno
